Personal data in NGOs
Nowadays, personal data are increasingly valuable, which is why so much emphasis is placed on protecting them. Any organisation should know how to do this safely and what safeguards should be in place to prevent breaches. As NGOs often operate in the area of health or social exclusion, they may be in possession of a special category of personal data, commonly referred to as ‘sensitive’. All the more reason for them to have data protection solutions and measures in place.
Typically, the introduction of appropriate data protection procedures and policies requires an audit to understand how the organisation operates and how a potential data breach may occur. Only then can solutions appropriate to the specific foundation be implemented.
What we do:
- We carry out risk analysis and a pre-implementation audit
- We prepare the data protection policy and the required records
- We assist in drawing up appropriate procedures (such as a company computer usage policy, procedure for the use of email, procedure for entrusting personal data processing)
- We assist in the comprehensive GDPR implementation from scratch or conduct an audit of the solutions already in place in the organisation (including document assessment and analysis)
- We provide training on the procedures adopted by the organisation (explain in practical terms what to look out for)
- We advise on what to do if a data breach occurs and how to future-proof yourself to minimise the risk of a breach
